A lot of well known patchwork blocks patterns consist of squares and triangles (half square and quarter square. The template sets A and B by Marti Michell are based on this: they contain squares and triangles, with which you can made a enormous array of blocks. The templates are made of the same acrylic material as quilt rulers, so they can be used with a rotary cutter. First, strips are cut of the right width, and then the templates are positioned on the strips, to make the second cut. Each template has double blunt corners for perfect alignment. The blocks go together past, easy and perfect!  

The second template set, B, has 7 parts (3 squares and 4 triangles). The largest square is 4 inch.

The book Encyclopedia of Patchwork Blocks part 1 contains a lot of blocks you can make with this set.

This is the third pattern in the From Marti and Me Club. separately here.

The Seven Sisters block is a traditional block, consisting of 7 stars, in a hexagon block. The pattern contains 34 pages, describing a table runner of 58 inch, that you can make in several lengths and two sizes quilt.

You can make this pattern with template set H and either the small or the large 60 degree triangle ruler.

Set H is a template set for patterns with hexagons. You can make designs like Grandmother's Flower Garden, Inner City, Thousand Pyramids, Baby Blocks and Stars. The templates are made of the same acrylic material as quilt rulers, so they can be used with a rotary cutter. First, strips are cut of the right width, and then the templates are positioned on the strips, to make the second cut. Each template has double blunt corners for perfect alignment. The blocks go together past, easy and perfect!  

Template set H has 3 pieces for cutting 11 shapes (hexagons, half hexagons, triangles and diamonds). The largest hexagon is 3 inch (finished side length).

The book Encyclopedia of Patchwork Blocks Volume 6 contains lots of projects and tips for using these templates.

With this ruler you can make equilateral triangles with sides of 2 till 6 inch. Like the templates, this ruler has blunt corners for easy construction.

Scrappy Bear's Path & More

This is the fourth pattern of the Marti and Me Club.

The pattern consists of a drunkard's path block, in a bear's paw block. It is made with the Tool of the Month: the Large Drunkard's Path Template set. The triangles can be cut with template set B, which was the tool of the month in one of the earlier issues. 

The quilt on the cover of the pattern is a small wallhanging, consisting of one block with borders. There is also a pattern for a crib quilt and for a queen/double size quilt. An extra pattern with a completely different effect is on the back of the cover: Asian Roundabout (see the extra picture).
