Template set C

PPT-C
!

Bonus set to add to set A. Using set C, together with the templates of set A, you can make a lot of new blocks. The templates are made of the same acrylic material as quilt rulers, so they can be used with a rotary cutter. First, strips are cut of the right width, and then the templates are positioned on the strips, to make the second cut. Each template has double blunt corners for perfect alignment. The blocks go together past, easy and perfect!

Set C has 7 parts, e.g. an isosceles triangle that fits in a 3 inch square. You can now make Storm at Sea blocks, or Attic Windows.

The book Encyclopedia of Patchwork Blocks part 2 contains a lot of blocks you can make with this set, in combination with set A.

This is the ninth pattern of the From Marti and Me Club.

This pattern contains a lot of projects with the Dresden Plate pattern. The quilt on the cover of the pattern (right hand side in the picture) is made with the Dresden Plate set. The Dresden Plates are sewn on a block of 6 inch, that forms the centre of a star block of 12 inch. The pattern also contains a quilt of 58 x 73 inch (Dresden Fan Quilt, made with the Dresden Plate set, left hand side in the picture), a table runner with mini Dresden Plates, a wall quilt of 40 x 47 inch and three ruffled pillows. The pillows all have a different Dresden Plate pattern: a Dresden Fan (using a quarter of the Dresden Plate), a double Dresden Plate and a butterfly..

Evening Stars

MM-8500
!

The tenth pattern of the From Marti and Me Club.

This pattern is made with template set A or template set B. This month, there is no tool of the month. Sets A and B have been tools of the month for earlier patterns.

You make the overlapping Evening Stars by sewing Square in a Square units, alternating dark and light centre squares. By adding the border with the star points, you will see the stars emerge. The pattern is very suitable for working with scraps. The pattern includes quilts in four sizes, from wallhanging to bed size.

Twist & Turn with Drunkard's Path

MM-8510
!

The eleventh pattern of the From Marti and Me Club.

This pattern contains a lot of projects based on the Drunkard's Path Block. Upper left on the photo you see a traditional Drunkard's Path quilt, in blue and white. In the middle you see a wall hanging (32 inch square). This is just one of the many variations that you can make if you sew Drunkard's Path blocks with lots of different fabrics. The pattern very clearly explains how to sew the curved Drunkard's Path seam on a sewing machine, or by hand. The pattern even contains two projects with a totally different method of making the blocks: fusible appliqué and even one with raw edges (turtles). A great projects to make with kids.

The quilt on the cover (right hand side on the photo) is called Twister. This pattern has double Drunkard's Path blocks and by turning them you will get beautiful effects. The quilt in the photo is made in batiks. For this quilt you will need both the Large Drunkard's Path set and the regular Drunkard's Path set. The quilt has 24 blocks and measures 30 x 42 inches.
