With this set, you can make Mariner's Compass blocks with a diameter of 20 inch (50,8 cm). The set contains 6 acrylic templates, for easy rotary cutting. The templates include a 1/4 inch seam allowance. The simplest block has 16 points, and you can also make compasses with 32 points. The centre circle is appliqued on top of the block. The whole compass is appliqued onto, or into the background of the block. The accompanying booklet has extensive instructions for making the block and for the applique.
You can make these blocks by machine, but also by hand, if you prefer.
