Minewood Quilting

This book by Marti Michell, Encyclopedia of Patchwork Blocks Volume 3, describes the use of template sets  E for making 55 different blocks, ranging from 4 to 36 inch. She gives a lot op tips for using the templates and for choosing blocks for a quilt.

Tempate set F consists of 5 acrylic templates. With these temlates you can make the Sunburst block. The diameter of the circle is 10,5 inch which you applique on a 12 inch block.

Set G is a template set for patterns with hexagons. You can make designs like Grandmother's Flower Garden, Inner City, Thousand Pyramids, Baby Blocks and Stars. The templates are made of the same acrylic material as quilt rulers, so they can be used with a rotary cutter. First, strips are cut of the right width, and then the templates are positioned on the strips, to make the second cut. Each template has double blunt corners for perfect alignment. The blocks go together past, easy and perfect!   Template set G has 9 pieces for cutting 11 shapes (hexagons, half hexagons, triangles and diamonds). The largest hexagon is 2 inch (finished side length).

The book Encyclopedia of Patchwork Blocks Volume 6 contains lots of projects and tips for using these templates.

Set N is a mini template set. You can use it to cut pieces based on a 1 inch square and a 3/4 inch hexagon. The leaflet tells you how to make blocks from the books 1 and 3.  These templates have holes for dot-to-dot piecing accuracy. The templates are made of the same acrylic material as quilt rulers, so they can be used with a rotary cutter. First, strips are cut of the right width, and then the templates are positioned on the strips, to make the second cut. Each template has double blunt corners for perfect alignment. The blocks go together past, easy and perfect!  

Template set N has 5 pieces for 6 cutting shapes.

Template set J consists of 6 parts, to cut the 10 parts of a house block. These are acrylic templates that you can use to cut the fabric with your rotary cutter.  The corners are engineered to make the pieces fit exactly, without dog ears (that is why the triangular gable fits the roof exactly). The block size is 6 inch.  A bonus of this set is that the gable template can be used to make the Thousand Pyramids.

Template set K consists of 6 parts, to cut the 10 parts of a house block. These are acrylic templates that you can use to cut the fabric with your rotary cutter.  The corners are engineered to make the pieces fit exactly, without dog ears (that is why the triangular gable fits the roof exactly). The block size is 12 inch.  A bonus of this set is that the gable template can be used to make the Thousand Pyramids.

With this set you can make 7-patch 12 inch blocks, but you can also make blocks in other sizes. It contains 6 templates to cut 8 different shapes.
